xmunchx

During my early morning breakfast of the creativity of champions, I stumbled upon a sweet one (and NOT sweet in the ninjaturtle type-way) which led to a waterfall of strange feelings of levitation, feathers, cots, cheap hotels, and light, hazy colours.

Twistin'

Night Life

I thought it was you but I couldn't tell.
It's so hard, working with people, you want them all
To like you and be happy, but they get in the way
Of their own predilections, it's like a stone

Blocking the mouth of a cave. And when you say, come on let's
be individuals reveling in our separateness, yet twined
Together at the top by our hair, like branches, then it's OK
To go down into the garden at night and smoke cigarettes,

Except that nothing cares about the obstacles, the gravity
You had to overcome to reach this admittedly unimpressive
Stage in the chain of delusions leading to your freedom,
Or is that just one more delusion? Yet I like the way

Your hair is cropped, it's important, the husky fragrance
Breaking out of your voice, when I've talked too long
On the phone, addressing the traffic over my balcony
Again, launched far out over the thing ice once it begins to smile.

you know who Ashbery.

Phil Elvrum

Listen to me get off the internet
We are the ones who are alive right now so lets start living
We're obsessed with freedom and living easy lives
but what use is an easy life hungry and blind
The hallow cold, the crawling-hunting,
indulging your weakest parts and still you're hungry
Why not wake the fuck up and smell the air outside
and do a little real work and come back to life
Clean out the fridge, take out the garbage,
sweep the floor, open the doors and windows
read the news, shut up about music
ask a stupid question, stop feeling too ignorant
This is the one world where we live curious and busy,
As the world is ending can I survive this cold dawn
At least I can sit here in the street exhaling and strong
Clean up the mess, get off the internet
We are the ones who are alive right now so lets start living.

collarbone

i stood inside this bag.
tangled in a string
five months long desperate to breath clean air.

turned the page to discover
the liberation of newness.

the catch is sabotage, but

attempting telepathy seemed easier in the books.

all the voices come in cracked
.
now see through glasses

of irreversible, stomping, time.

I am hungry for a hand but

I feel so small

here in this

box you have

carved for me

Yesterday

I hooked the collarbones of my chest

on two metal j's

and hauled myself up above the clothesline.
I am pinned up to dry,

I am left for the crows to pick

and still hungry.
forever guilty for taking seconds
--
for falling prey to 10 mangled fingers.

Some Jack Quotes to begin. The man knows.

“I like too many things and get all confused and hung-up running from one falling star to another till i drop. This is the night, what it does to you. I had nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion.”

“Maybe that's what life is...a wink of the eye and winking stars.”

“What is the feeling when you're driving away from people, and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? -it's the too huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.””

“My witness is the empty sky.”

“Why did I allow myself to be bored ever in the past and to compensate for it got high or drunk or rages or all the tricks people have because they want anything but serene understanding of just what there is, which is after all so much.”

“Our battered suitcases were piled on the sidewalk again; we had longer ways to go. But no matter, the road is life.”

"Offer them what they secretly want and they of course immediately become panic-stricken.”

“All of life is a foreign country.”

“...colleges being nothing but grooming schools for the middleclass non-identity which usually finds its perfect expression on the outskirts of the campus in rows of well-to-do houses with lawns and television sets is each living room with everybody looking at the same thing and thinking the same thing at the same time while the Japhies of the world go prowling in the wilderness...”
